The military cemetery in Val da Ros was initially arranged by the locals after the battle of Pradis in November 1917, when the Italians were trying to stop the advancing Austro-Hungarian and German troops. The soldiers of both sides were buried here. After World War I, the mortal remains of the soldiers buried in the cemeteries of Pielungo and Forno were transferred to the cemetery in Val da Ros. In the 1930’s, the remains of Italian soldiers were moved to one of the ossuaries that were built during the fascist regime. Nowadays the tombstones of Italian soldiers can still be seen and crosses mark the graves of German soldiers. In the cemetery stands a monument in the shape of a pyramid.
