The museum collection Posočje 1915–1917 which is composed of military and ethnographic objects, is located in the village of Idrsko just 2 kilometres outside Kobarid. The collection is housed in an old farm building, constructed at the turn of the 20th century, which captivates the visitors with its architectural peculiarities. The collection includes several military objects that remind us of the hard period during World War I, that profoundly marked the lives of the people of Kobarid and nearby places. Objects, documents and photographs of the period between the two wars, World War II and the period of the Federal Republic of Yugoslavia tell the story about political, boundary and administrative changes that took place in these places in the 20th century. Part of the collection is dedicated to ethnographic objects that give the visitor an insight into the past everyday life of the people, farmers and craftsmen in the village of Idrsko and nearby places. The ethnographic part of the collection, in a genuine way, preserves the memory of the once simple everyday life of the people living in places by the Soča river. A way of life that is more and more forgotten and unknown among younger generations.
The museum collection is located in the village of Idrsko, just next to the crossroad for the village of Livek.
