On the south-eastern edge of Mt. Sabotin there are ruins of a 14th century pilgrimage church dedicated to St. Valentine. The church complex, which lies on both the Slovenian and Italian sides, was almost destroyed during World War I, but it has been partially restored and organized as an archaeological park.
