The Revoltella Museum in Trieste/Trst is a modern art gallery whose holdings were initially housed in the Renaissance residence of Baron Pasquale Revoltella. Original furniture and decorations, and a large art collection of the early 19th century are displayed here. In the course of time, the building became too small for all the exhibits, so the City Council purchased the adjacent Brunner building which houses one of the most important collections of modern art in Italy.
