Lake Bohinj is the largest natural lake in Slovenia, enriching the beauty of the Julian Alps and the Triglav National Park. Its area is only surpassed in Slovenia by two lakes, the intermittent Cerknica Lake (Cerkniško jezero) (when full) and the artificial Ptuj Lake (Ptujsko jezero).
