When the baptistery was built, it was dedicated to Peace. It is a memorial to the “Ragazzi del ’99” (“the Boys of ’99”), i.e. the Italian young men who were born in 1899 and called to arms in 1917, after having turned eighteen. The monument, inaugurated on 19 June 1983, is meant to be an auspice of fraternity of all the people of future generations. Every year, the anniversary of its inauguration is commemorated with a public ceremony called Giornata della Pace (Peace Day), during which Italian and foreign babies are baptized. The building has recently been renovated under the conduct of the Municipality with the support from the Regione del Veneto.

If coming from Noventa di Piave, use the road Via Roma (SP83) and turn to Via Cà Memo (SP48). Follow the street and cross the bridge. The baptistery is just below the turn after the bridge.
