Listen to the tales from the Isonzo Front, which left a permanent scar on the tranquil region of Kras from World War I. The movie War in Kras (1915–1918), which is played in the Monument of Peace Cerje, takes you back to World War I. The stone memorial looks like a rook on the chessboard of Slovenia’s history, and offers a window into the past. On clear days, the observation platform offers a view stretching from the Alps to the Adriatic Sea. After viewing the Throne of Boroević, a monumental piece dedicated to the Austrian-Hungarian commander, we will visit the mysterious underground world of Pečinka Cave. You will be able to get a glimpse into the harsh reality of being a frontline soldier and to take photos with soldiers in uniforms. We will finish with an army-style pot meal (merenda), fresh from the cauldron over the open fire. The return to the Monument of Peace will bring you back to the present.
In bad weather, the visit of Pečinka Cave is replaced with the visit of the First World War Collection in Opatje selo.
The price depends on the number of participants/time of the guided tour.

Guided tour is possible upon prior reservation at least 8 days in advance.
The cave is not accessible for people on wheelchairs.
