The elevation Kozlov rob, which rises above Tolmin, has always been a dominant element in the Tolmin cultural landscape. Though it is beter known for its former 12th century castle, Kozlov rob played an important role at the time of the Isonzo Front too. It was a fortified observation post of the Austro-Hungarian Army, from where they shelled the Italian positions on the Tolmin bridgehead. It is possible now to ascend Kozlov rob along the history-and-nature educational trail.
Access to the top of Mt. Kozlov rob is possible from the direction of Tolmin, Zatolmin and Dolje.
