A Soldier’s Story from the Isonzo Front

Hiking Families Researchers Groups
Easy | 3–4 hours

Experience a glimpse into the life of a soldier and his personal battles while enjoying breathtaking views from the Alps to the Adriatic.

More than a century ago, World War I carved deep scars into the region between the Alps and the Adriatic. The Southwestern Front was established and the Isonzo Front formed a part of it. The Italian and Austro-Hungarian Armies fought fierce battles here for 29 months.
Would you like to walk around the actual battlefield, an authentic location with restored defensive positions from World War I surrounded with stunning panoramic views, to experience a fragment of a soldier’s life on the Isonzo Front?

Welcome to Kolovrat!
