Soča Outdoor Festival: Heritage of the Great War on the banks of the emerald beauty

The Walk of Peace from the Alps to the Adriatic, a long-distance hiking trail which connects the World War I heritage points in the extremely picturesque landscape, passes also through the town of Tolmin and its surroundings. Explore this small section of the Walk of Peace with an experienced local guide. You will have the chance to see the inside of the German charnel house, the final resting place of the German soldiers who fell in the Twelfth Isonzo Battle. From the charnel house we will ascend up to Mt. Kozlov rob, that rises above Tolmin, and to the castle ruins. It is less known that a watch tower of the Austro-Hungarian Army was standing on the top of the hill from which the cannons were firing onto the Italian defence positions. Even though with time nature covered the traces of war, the Isonzo Front left a permanent mark, maintained as a reminder also by private collectors. On this tour, you will visit one of these World War I private collections, titled Mrzli vrh, effort of two generations. After the visit we will head back to Tolmin.
